His
Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the
Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, Supreme President of the
University of Sharjah had signed on 31st January 2008 an Agreement
between the Canadian Council of Health Services Accreditation and
Sharjah Teaching Hospital. Sharjah Teaching Hospital will provide
educational services and therapeutic health to the community of the
Emirate of Sharjah in particular and the United Arab Emirates in
general accordance with the highest international quality standards
at the time, which provides training services to medical students at
the University of Sharjah.
The agreement was signed with Mr. Martin Beaumont – CCHSA Director,
International, in the presence of His Excellency Hamid Al Qatami -
Health Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Saqr Al Qassimi – Director of
the Sharjah Health Department and Undersecretary of the Ministry of
Health Assistant, Dr. Amin Amiri Undersecretary of the Ministry of
Health Assistant chairman of the Al Qasimi Hospital, Prof. Stan Capp
– Sharjah Teaching Hospital CEO, and Dr. Amr Abdul Hamid – Special
Advisor of H.H. Ruler of Sharjah for Higher Education, Dr Ismail bin
Mohammed Al Bishri – Chancellor of the University of Sharjah and his
Vices and members of the Canadian and deans of medical colleges and
a number of officials at the Ministry of Health and Al Qassimi
Hospital.
The signing ceremony was also attended by a number of
representatives of the Canadian Embassy and consulate in the U.A.E.
The Agreement ensures the highest level of international quality in
treatment services, health and education for the hospital. Prof.
Stan Capp – Chief Executive Officer of the hospital – had spoken before
the signing of the Agreement on Australian interest group to be
headed by a distinguished hospital team for health services and
treatment at the highest possible level of quality both in
equipments, doctors, technicians and a group of nursing, in addition
to its laboratories and the treatment and management systems, which
will be introduced its advanced technology in all areas. He pointed
out that he had been taken into account educational role by the
hospital to play, and is in part of this teaching and educational
theatres to be established in the hospital.
He stressed that his group chose Canadian Council for the convening
of this Convention for the Council of the long history and long
experience in the areas of quality hospitals spanned forty years,
which put global quality standards for more than a thousand
hospitals inside and outside Canada.
